China, India and Non-DAC Donors: New Prospects for African Development?

Speakers: Dr Peter Kragelund (Danish Institute for International Studies)

 

This seminar, organised by the Africa-Asia Centre, will examine the consequences of the return to Africa of China and India as donors that are not members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD's) Development Assistance Committee (DAC). Peter Kragelund is a researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies, Copenhagen, and has carried out research in Africa for the past seven years. Besides aid, his research interests include private sector development, and foreign direct investment, including Chinese investments in Zambia. He is currently undertaking post-doctoral research on the effects of Chinese investments in Zambia.
