This will be the first seminar in the SOAS Department of Development Studies and Bloomsbury DTC for the Social Sciences seminar series. All are welcome and there is no need to book - but arrive early to be sure of a seat. Seminars are followed by a formal reception event. We look forward to seeing you there.

Professor Jayati Ghosh is a Professor of Economics at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, School of Social Sciences, at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, in New Delhi, India.

Professor Rainer Kattel is Professor of Innovation Policy and Technology Governance and Head of the Program at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia. He serves on several national and European (EU, European Science Foundation) commissions in charge of science and research policy and funding, including the Innovation Policy Council. He is particularly interested in Biotechnology and national innovation systems, and he also has a strong background in Philosophy and Classics.

Professor Erik S. Reinert is Professor of Technology Governance and Development Strategies. He is a former entrepreneur and since 2000 served as the Executive Chairman of The Other Canon Foundation, a small center and network for heterodox economics research. Reinert's research interests and publications focus around the theory of uneven development and the history of economic thought and policy.
