LIDC-SOAS Careers in International Development Networking Event

Monday, January 30, 2017 - 17:15 to 19:00
Venue:
SOAS Careers Service SL62, Senate House North Block

Interested in a career in international development? Want the opportunity to discuss careers advice and guidance from recent graduates working in development?

The LIDC-SOAS careers in international development networking event was an opportunity for students to hear from development professionals about their experiences and to get a better idea of the options and career paths in international development.

All of our development professionals graduated within the last 5 years and were on hand to answer questions such as:

  • Where do I go from here?
  • How do I get a job in the field, in research, in anything?
  • What skills do I need? Is a masters enough?

The event was also a chance to find out more about the LIDC internship opportunity from LIDC Communications Officer Anjuli Borgonha and to speak with the SOAS Careers Service.

Taking place at SOAS and organised by LIDC, there was an hour of flash talks plus time for questions and mingling afterwards.

Students from our member colleges (RVC, SOAS, UCL IOE, BBK) and current UCL DPU students attended.
