Prof. Xiangping Jia (Northwest Agriculture & Forest University, China)

Xiangping Jia is a professor in agricultural economics at the Northwest Agriculture & Forest University (NAFU, located in Shaanxi) China since 2014.

He received his PhD from University of Hohenheim in 2008, Germany. Working on research about agricultural policies and rural development, he has a particular interest in the application of new institutional economics to issues of agrofood market coordination, development of inclusive financial markets, the organization and performance of smallholder farms, and participatory agricultural extension system.

Before working at NAFU, he worked at the Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy (CCAP, located in Beijing), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
