Re-launch of Publications of the Centre for Development Policy and Research (CDPR)

This is a global announcement for the re-launch of the publications of the Centre for Development Policy and Research (CDPR), located in the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

CDPR draws on the broad range of development expertise at SOAS to engage in innovative policy-oriented research and training. This expertise covers such diverse areas as globalisation, international political economy, economic policy alternatives, conflict and development, humanitarian affairs, migration and refugees, food security, agrarian change, labour markets and employment, and governance and institutional change.
The three publications listed in this announcement begin a regular series of CDPR Development Viewpoints, Policy Briefs and Development Digests on a wide range of topical development issues. These are popular-format publications designed to foster critical thinking, spark discussion and debate, and offer policy alternatives.
The first three publications are one-page Development Viewpoints:

South African Electricity Crisis, Development Viewpoint #3, May 2008, by Kate Bayliss, Research Officer, CDPR.

Global Benefits and Losses from the U.S. Recession and Recovery Package, Development Viewpoint #2, May 2008, by Francis Cripps, Director of Alphametrics, and Terry McKinley, Director of CDPR.

Inflation Targeting in Sub-Saharan Africa: Why Now? Why at All? Development Viewpoint #1, April 2008, by Terry McKinley, Director of CDPR.
