Job summary: The successful candidate will work within the Leverhulme Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health (LCIRAH) and in close contact with RVC. He/she will play a crucial role in the development of frameworks for the assessments of diseases and their control that take into account both the technical aspects of the disease and aspects of the institutional settings in which people operate and the disease circulates. The frameworks will be used to examine the causes of disease emergence and re-emergence, and to minimise the impact of disease presence on food supply and safety. The work will be achieved through PhD projects, independent research and interdisciplinary work with the academics in LCIRAH and more widely in RVC. A strong focus of the work will relate to international development, a core theme of LIDC's activities. Successful engagement in this role could lead to the post becoming a lecturership within RVC.
